The structured interview process is an assessment which gives the specialist time to obtain a thorough review of the patient's developmental history potentially as part of the process to make an Autistic spectrum diagnosis.

Structured interview types include the Autism Diagnostic Interview-Revised (ADI-R), the Diagnostic Interview for Social and Communication Disorders (DISCO) and the Gilliam Autism Rating Scale (GARS).
